Definitions of the Month
From the numbers people enter for both Seller's Discretionary Cash Flow and EBITDA in their listings I think we may need a little explanation. Here's the "definitions of the month".
EBITDA
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation of capital equipment, and amortization of intangible assets. How much money would a business make on an annualized basis if interest, taxes, depreciation of capital equipment, and amortization on intangible assets did not exist?
SELLER'S DISCRETIONARY CASH FLOW (DCF) The International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) defines Discretionary Earnings as: "The earnings of a business enterprise prior to income taxes, nonrecurring income and expenses, non-operating income and expenses, depreciation and amortization, interest expense or income, and the owner's total compensation for one owner/operator after adjusting the total compensation of all owners to market value.
